Daimler has removed a senior executive from his role running a Chinese business after he wasaccused of yelling racist abuse during an altercation over a car parking space in Beijing.

It said Mr Gaertner remained a Daimler employee but his next position had not been decided.

According to state media reports, the incident took place in Shunyi, a residential suburb innorth-east Beijing popular with overseas executives.
